ARRIVING AT THE CITY |
| |
Two airports serve the city:
Jorge Newbery Airport. Tourists coming from the interior of the country or from bordering countries arrive at this airport located by the riverside, five minutes away from downtown.
Ezeiza International Airport. Visitors from the rest of the world are welcomed at this airport located 15 minutes away from downtown through a highway. Offers taxi, remise, transfer and bus services 24 hours a day.
Buenos Aires is connected with the República Oriental del Uruguay through the river. Trips from Colonia and Montevideo are scheduled daily.
If you want to visit areas outside the Capital – such as the Delta – or neighborhoods distant from downtown, the railways provide an affordable service. Several lines allow access to the center of the city. The railway stations Retiro, Constitución, Once and F. Lacroze are terminal stations used as a place for passenger transfer. Fares are payable at the ticket offices located in every station and depend on the distance covered (minimum fare, $0.85).
These tours may be also made by bus. The bus terminal is located in Retiro neighborhood and several companies operate offering a wide variety of timetables.
