Boca Juniors is one of the most popular football clubs in the country together with his rival, River Plate.
With a horseshoe shape structure, three superimposed levels and a steep inclination angle, this football stadium feats 50,000. Due to its shape, it was named "La Bombonera." (candy box.) The few meters that separate the game field from the grandstands make a greater proximity between the audience and the game. The matches of the 1st division tournament are played on Fridays, Saturdays, and most of them on Sundays.
There is a painted mural by Benito Quinquela Martín at the entrance hall, and there are other 15 murals in the exterior of the stadium painted in blue and yellow (the club colors.) The ones by artists Pérez Celis and Rómulo Macció stand out.
There is a museum called "Museo de la Pasión Boquense," over Brandsen Street, and it exhibits a great items collection and an interactive audiovisual production that tells the story of the club.
