How can you easily get around the city? |
To get around the city, you have a wide range of transportation options:
Subways
There are five subways lines: A, B, C, D and E This is the quickest and easiest way to get to your destination. The five lines are connected with the main avenues, railway stations and bus lines stops, and all of them converge upon downtown, the main tourist area of the city. Timetables: Mondays to Saturdays from 5 am to 10.30 pm, and Sundays and Holidays from 8 am to 10 pm.
Buses
Timetables: Service operates 24 hours a day, but frequency is reduced after 12 am.
Taxis
You can get a taxi by phone or directly at the street. ‘Radiotaxis’ (taxis provided with radio systems) are considered to be safer. Price toll is obviously in Argentine pesos.

Where are the airports, railway terminals, bus terminals, ship terminals, etc.? |
There are two airports:
- Jorge Newbery Airport: It is located in Costanera Norte (Rafael obligado S/N) Flights to other points of the country or some neighboring countries.
- Ministro Pistarini InternationalAirport Also known as Ezeiza Airport, since it is the neighborhood where it is located. It is 35 kilometers away from Buenos Aires city. International flights are operated from this airport. Information: Aeropuertos Argentina 2000:

Interurban railways
There are four railway terminals in Buenos Aires city. It is very easy to get to them since all are nodes of connection and a lot of bus lines get you there. On each terminal, there is a subway station.
- Constitución Terminal: you can travel to the south of Buenos Aires province.

How to get there?: subway line C, Constitución station.
- Retiro Terminal: you can travel to the north and northwest of Buenos Aires province. It is a few meters away from Retiro Bus Terminal.

How to get there?: Subway line C. These railway stations comprise the former railway lines Mitre, Belgrano and San Martín.
- Once terminal: you can travel to the west of Buenos Aires province (TBA company) (former line Sarmiento). Address: Bartolomé Mitre 2815
How to get there?: subway line A, Plaza Miserere station. Subway line B, Pueyrredón station. There is a differential service provided by TBA that goes from Puerto Madero to Castelar.
- Federico Lacroze Terminal: This is the Urquiza line. Address: Intersection of avenues Federico Lacroze and Corrientes
How to get there?: subway line B, Federico Lacroze station.
Bus Lines (Mid and Long Distance Service)
Retiro Bus Terminal: This is the main bus station. From here, all long distance services go the whole country and neighboring countries. You can get here with subway line C, Retiro station.
Liniers Bus Terminal: It is located in the homonym neighborhood. This terminal operates services to the northwest and center of the country.

Fluvial Transportation means
You can connect Montevideo and Colonia cities in Uruguay by crossing the Río de la Plata. There are three companies that daily perform these journeys from the North and South docks:
Buquebús, Ferrytur and Ferrylíneas.

How can you travel to Santiago, La Paz, Asunción, Montevideo (and other international destinations)? |
The best way is to travel by airplane from Ezeiza airport or Jorge Newbery airport. However, you can travel to neighboring countries by bus from Retiro bus terminal.

A foreigner can drive a car in Buenos Aires. Requirements: To be 21 years or older, to bear a driving license issued in his/her country of origin, an international license (in cases of countries other than bordering ones) and a credit card to be used as a warranty. |
