Besides it is one of the cultural poles in Latin America, Buenos Aires is an important site for business events, fairs, congresses and exhibitions.

The fair business is extensively growing in Argentina, specially in Buenos Aires.

The International Fair of Tourism in Buenos Aires is a good example of the way in which Buenos Aires combines cultural activities and commercial opportunities.




Book Fair

Book Fairs have been organized for a long time so far. The book industry is hugely benefited either from the book publishing perspective as well as from the commercial one. These fairs are basically divided into two sorts: professional fairs (only for specialized people) and mixed fairs (for the general public and professionals also).

The Book Fair in Buenos Aires is a mixed event and one of the five most important book publishing fairs in the world along with the fairs organized in Frankfurt, London, Bologna and the Book Expo America.

It is recognized for the dimension, number of visitors, expositors and cultural activities conducted by famous figures of the culture. Additionally, this fair produces an increasing effect on jobs generation, services, assistance and tourism.

During the fair, the place becomes like a city of services with a perfect organization.

Statistics always highlight this phenomenon and its impact on the cultural life and the book publishing industry. The first fair was organized in 1975.

Tourism agencies include this Fair within their tour packages and tourists coming to Buenos Aires to attend other events usually visit the fair also. Many people from Chile and Uruguay say always present. The number of foreign tourists is continuously increasing, what it means that the Fair results interesting not only for the professionals but for the general public as well.

Each year, more and more expositors from foreign countries request a space to participate in the exhibition. Today, La Rural is not enough for the current situation.

As to the professional field, there is a high demand to participate in the Professional Courses where business breakfasts, presentations and training courses are carried out. The Fair becomes a business center par excellence for the industry, where the promotion turns to be one of the main activities.




Other Expos

International Fair of Tourism (FIT)
This fair has been organized every November since 1996. It is the biggest fair of tourism in Latin America.
The two first days, the Fair is opened to the general public and the two last days only to the professionals.


La Rural
This is the exhibition of Livestock, Agriculture and Industry which has been organized since 120 years ago to date in every July. It is the most important exhibition of livestock and agriculture in South America. Additionally, it constitutes an ineludible business center of this industry. Businessmen and producers are gathered on the same place to show new products and technologies.

It is very visited by the general public and foreign people.
