What is Mobile Audio Guide? |
|
|
It’s a service provided by the Subsecretary of Tourism, an agency of the Buenos Aires city government, which has designed several sightseeing circuits of historical interest, each composed of various stops. Corresponding to each stop is an audio archive that may be accessed by your cellphone or downloaded from the website.
The presentation includes remarks by historical figures, classic songs and selected film dialogues.
There are 12 tour circuits in all. All stops on the circuits are hosted by a narrator who provides general information and introduces guest commentary:

Among the many voices you’ll hear are Eva and Juan Perón, the singers Carlos Gardel and Edmundo Rivero, the writers Jorge Luis Borges and Julio Cortázar, and the sports idols Diego Maradona and Guillermo Vilas.

How do I use the Mobile Audio Guide? |
|

To enter the MAG you’ll need the circuit maps which indicate the location of each stop and provide access to the audio archives.

2.1 The Maps

Find them at the Tourist Information Centers or you can print them here.
|

2.2 The audios
|
|
You can download all the audios and store them in your mp3, or you can listen to them directly though you cellphone.

2.3 The codes
|
|
Each stop has a corresponding code which provides access to the recorded commentaries. All the codes can be found here.

2.4 Step by step on your cellphone:
|
 |
1. To communicate with the MAG service, call *8283.
|
 |
2. Choose one: (English, Spanish, Portuguese)
|
 |
3. Enter the code of your current stop.
|
 |
The charge is equal to a local call.
|
